How to Plant Rose Roots

Give your roses the best start with proper planting techniques. Whether you're growing bare root roses or potted varieties, begin by choosing a sunny location with well-draining soil. Dig a hole deep enough to accommodate the roots, mound a cone of soil in the center of the hole, then position the plant so the bud union (the knot at the base of the plant) sits just above the soil line in warm climates or slightly below in colder regions. Gently spread out the roots, backfill with nutrient-rich soil, and water thoroughly. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and protect from temperature fluctuations. With the right care, your roses will flourish with vibrant blooms season after season.
