Chantilly Cream Hybrid Tea Rose

Chantilly Cream Hybrid Tea Rose

This classic hybrid tea type expels a strong, very sweet fragrance. Its soft yellow double blooms reach 4-5" across and are each packed with 50-60 petals. An overall full plant, it produces a nice, vigorous bush. It will grow to a height of 1½-5', depending on the climate, with warmer temperatures driving taller heights. Its spread will reach 2-5', again based on the warmth of the local climate. Features long-lasting colors and very strong resistance to such diseases as rose rust, downy mildew and powdery mildew.

Growing Tips

  • Planting Instructions:

Dig a hole large enough to easily accommodate root structure. In cold climates, position the graft knot/crown 2 to 3 inches below ground level, in mild climates, position the graft knot/crown right at ground level. Place the plant at the proper height in the hole, and fill two-thirds full with the amended soil. Using a gentle stream of water, fill the remainder of the hole. As the water seeps in, it will moisten the roots and surrounding soil, removing any air pockets. After the water has completely settled, fill the hole to the top with the remaining soil. Sprinkle lightly with water to assure good moisture.
  • Soil Moisture:

    Well drained, humus enriched.
  • Will Tolerate:

Clay Soil, Loamy Soil, Sandy Soil
  • Pruning Instructions:

Removing spent blooms will encourage more flowers. Prune dramatically in early spring, after the danger of frost has passed and before new growth has begun.move any dead or damaged branches.
  • Winter Care:

Mulch heavily around the base of the plant. Remove promptly in early spring.
  • Watering Requirements:

Roses prefer a thorough watering but do not like 'wet feet'. Water early in the day to avoid wet conditions into the night which can cause issues with fungus and disease.
  • Fertilization Requirements:

    Once per year
