    Growing Tips

    • Planting Instructions:

Dig a hole deep enough to accommodate the roots without bending them. Roots should be just below the soil surface with the crown at the soil level.
    • Soil Moisture:

      Any good well-drained garden soil.
    • Will Tolerate:

      Loamy Soil
    • Pruning Instructions:

Cut back spent flower stems after flowering.
    • Winter Care:

Mulch in northern climates the first winter to prevent heaving when winter weather freezes and thaws repeatedly.
    • Planting Depth:

Top of plant should be just below soil level.
    • Watering Requirements:

The daylily only needs regular watering for the first year. After that, it becomes very resilient. If planted in extremely warm zones, supplemental watering may be necessary.
    • Fertilization Requirements:

Fertilize only once per year at the beginning of spring. Once established, the plant may not need fertilization every year.
