Boxwood Green Mountain Hedge

Boxwood Green Mountain Hedge

Perfect for low formal hedges. Often used as a non-intrusive low hedge around other plantings to draw attention. For example, as an outline to separate a rose garden from the rest of the bed. Very well adapted to shearing. Grows slowly to 2-3' tall by the 10th year. Will eventually mature to 3' to 5' tall. It has an upright, healthy growth habit, which combined with its slow growth makes it perfect, and easy, to maintain as an 8" to 12" formal hedge. Because of its slow growth, typically it can be managed at low heights with just one shearing per year, two at most. However, if you would like it to look super-sharp at all times, it can be sheared as many times as you want. Does well even in the deep south. Rabbits and deer don't like it! Recommended for zones 4 to 9.

Botanical Name: Buxus x 'Green Mountain'
