Violet's Pride Rose

Violet's Pride Rose

Named for Downton Abbey's Dowager Countess of Grantham, Violet's Pride is a force to be reckoned with in the landscape. When its pointed ovoid buds appear in early summer, you'll get a good idea of how beautiful this rose is sure to be, but when they open to reveal large 4" blooms, you are in for a real treat. The flowers are rich lavender-purple with striking magenta centers—a spectacular sight when in full bloom, especially against the mid-green backdrop of foliage. A well-mannered variety, Violet's Pride makes a fine addition to decorative patio containers or front-row border plantings where its fruity, spicy scent can be enjoyed.
