Other Spring-Planted Shade Perennials

Whether you are designing a planned shade garden or simply filling a bare space that gets little sunlight, consider adding some of these unique shade lovers to the project. Shady locales are often filled with the garden go-to plants, such as hosta, ferns and astilbe. These are all lovely, carefree plants that look great in a sun-dappled site. But for a truly special look, we suggest you try adding in a planting of fragrant Lily-of-the-Valley (or Convallaria) to perk up shadowy borders, garden beds or the ground beneath a stand of trees. We also offer Hellebores, Brunnera and Virginia Blue Bells for a little something special in the darkened areas of the landscape.
