Hosta Ki-Renjyaku

Now is the time to get your hands on this seldom-offered, yet much-requested Japanese import. Ki-Renjyaku is the hosta known more for its flowers than its foliage! Developed by Mr. Fukatsu-san in Japan, this totally unique hosta produces fully double, pale lavender blooms on arching, 24" tall scapes in mid to late summer. Not to be completely outdone, the lovely, light green spring foliage transforms to creamy yellow in summer, giving a whole new look to shady garden beds, borders or containers. At only 14" tall, this hosta makes a great ground cover, too. Highly recommended!

Growing Tips

Planting Instructions:
Soak roots in cold to lukewarm water for about 30 minutes. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the roots without bending them. Firm soil around roots and water in well.
Soil Moisture:
Tolerant of a wide range of soils, but best in well drained.

Pruning Instructions:
Remove spent flower stems to tidy up the plants for the rest of the growing season.
