Crocus Sativus

Crocus Sativus

Fall-blooming variety, also called saffron crocus, features lilac flowers with orange stamens. The stigmas may be removed and dried for use as saffron, a prized seasoning. Growing 4-6" tall, Crocus Sativus add charm to perennial beds and rock gardens when they bloom in early to mid fall. They grow best in full sun and naturalize well. Like other crocus bulbs, they look best when planted in groups of at least 10 or more. Plant Crocus Sativus bulbs in late summer to early fall.
