Iris versicolor Dark Aura

Unique plant boasts memorable foliage just as striking as its flower. Dark Aura's allure rests in its elegant yet bold purple-blue coloration that flows easily from its blooms into the distinctive sword-shaped leaves. Gorgeous flowers emerge in late-spring gardens and landscape. They're especially nice in perennial borders and mixed arrangements near the edge of a pond, stream or other water feature. They grow well in moist soil and can even grow in 1-2" of water, but will also perform elsewhere in the garden as long as the soil isn't too dry. Later in the growing season, the deep red-purple foliage changes to a two-tone coloration as the top halves turn to green. Makes a striking presentation when planted in groupings of three, five or more. Butterflies and other pollinators love this variety and will seek it out readily. Deer resistant. No. 1 roots.
