Hosta Brim Cup

Introducing a hosta variety that has a quite unusual shape. Brim Cup is a new hosta that bears dark green, lightly corrugated leaves accented with wide, streaky white margins—a lovely coloration indeed! But Brim Cup's best feature is that the heart-shaped leaves form unique cups that one does not often see in hosta varieties. In midsummer, purple tubular blooms appear and give even the darkest spaces a well-needed jolt of color. Plant this beauty along shadowed walkways, in container gardens that can be moved around the property with ease, or in groups as a flowering ground cover. It perennializes like a dream, reappearing year after year with increased bloom and vigor. Butterflies love it!

Growing Tips

Planting Instructions:
Soak roots in cold to lukewarm water for about 30 minutes. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the roots without bending them. Firm soil around roots and water in well.
Soil Moisture:
Tolerant of a wide range of soils, but best in well drained.
Will Tolerate:
Acidic Soil, Clay Soil, Loamy Soil, Sandy Soil
Pruning Instructions:
Remove spent flower stems to tidy up the plants for the rest of the growing season.

Winter Care:
Mulch +/- 2" for the first winter. Remove promptly in early spring.
