German Iris Mrs Horace Darwin

German Iris Mrs Horace Darwin

Mrs Horace Darwin is living proof that some of the oldest iris cultivars are among the most beautiful and best loved. Introduced in 1888 and named for the wife of one of Charles Darwin's sons, it's still very popular today. This iris features pure white standards and falls, with distinctive violet veining at the hafts. Blooms open in early to mid spring on well-branched stalks up to 21" tall, making this free-flowering iris an excellent height for growing at the front of a border. Stands out when planted ahead of taller, more colorful varieties, and an obvious choice for a moonlight garden.

  • Mature Height 21 inches
