Striking and dramatic, this nearly black award winner shows hints of purple and a lustrous sheen. German Iris Blackwater is a swarthy yet playful variety that combines a rich, mysterious coloration with a bouncy, somewhat perky flower form. Elaborate ruffles let the deep color reflect the sunlight in a most pleasing way. For maximum appeal and a conversation starter to boot, we suggest planting Blackwater in groups that are sure to be noticed in the landscape. Grows to 38" tall in midseason.
