Here's an award-winning beauty that is totally unique in the world of German iris. Baboon Bottom boasts a fascinating coloration that you won't find in most gardens. Lovely, well-formed iris emerge bearing soft pink standards that sit proudly above falls that are swirled and streaked in pink and rose with deeper, red-purple stippled accents. Bright tangerine beards are neatly tipped in rose red. Site in borders, cutting gardens and mass plantings for the greatest impact and appeal. Perennializes well, appearing with increased vigor year after year. German iris are very easy to grow with reliable blooms that are naturally deer resistant.

Growing Tips

    Set rhizome so bottom 1/2 is below ground-level, firm well and water thoroughly.

  • Pruning Instructions:

    Remove spent flower stems after flowering. In late fall, cut back foliage to 15 cm fans. Clean plant debris before winter to prevent borers overwintering.

We take advanced orders, and as the crops are harvested, our staff of K. van Bourgondien experts makes an on-the-spot selection of the finest bulbs available to fill those reservations.
