Eupatorium maculatum 'atropurpureum' is a very long name for a very unusual plant. This award-winning perennial is just what pollinators crave, making it the go-to plant for large butterfly gardens or designated pollinator-friendly areas. Producing broad, umbrella-like flower heads that provide protection for feeding bees, butterflies and hummingbirds, it is also an attractive choice for adding color, texture and architectural interest to nearly any garden site. The plant grows to an astonishing 6½-8' tall! Rose-purple blooms sit nicely upon the tall stems. Makes a nice cut flower, too.
