Epimedium warleyense

Epimedium warleyense

Epimedium, also known as Fairy Wings, and it's easy to see why, features charming little blooms that add an exotic sense of whimsy to the darker sections of the landscape. Warleyense bears coppery orange-red, columbine-like blooms accented with yellow spurred petals. The flowers appear in mid to late spring amid compact foliage that remains attractive well into fall. Epimedium is a slow-growing perennial, but it is quite tough and very long lived in the landscape. It makes a fantastic flowering ground cover or container garden planting.
