Bear's Breeches

Bear's Breeches

Put a touch of whimsy in your next landscaping project with the addition of this unique perennial. Bear's Breeches makes the perfect accent planting for sun-filled borders and beds. In mid to late summer, its dense mounds of glossy leaves become a contrasting backdrop to plentiful white, snapdragon-like blooms and spiny, red-purple bracts on singular flower spikes. The subhooded flowers somewhat resemble tiny pairs of old-fashioned breeches, hence the charming name. Pollinators, such as butterflies, love this 36-60" plant and will visit often. Bear's Breeches is a great perennializer, reappearing yearly with increased vigor and bloom.
