Colocasia Gigantea Thailand
Latin Name: Colocasia
Common Name: Elephant Ear
Massive leaves are upward facing for a dramatically bold tropical look in the summer garden. Sun or shade tolerant this plant needs plenty of water and nitrogen to thrive.
Cultural instructions are the same as Caladium but bulbs must be planted 6" deep. Excellent tub plant.
For maximum performance start bulbs indoors about 6 weeks before the last frost date. Start in flats or individual pots. Plant 6" deep in damp peat moss or vermiculite. Space 3". Water well and keep in a very warm area. Transplant outdoors when frost has passed and soil has warmed.
