One of the most sacred flowers from Southern China. The plant gets its name from the large yellow upright flower. As the stalk grows, tiny inedible "bananas" begin to appear. Ideal indoor pot plant and perfect in containers on patios and balconies. Mix them into tropical style gardens or get creative and use them with other garden styles. Unlike other bananas, this species is cold hardy in most winter temperatures, possibly even to zones 5 or 6 with added mulch for protection.
