Fresh as a summer morning! Even as an immature specimen in its first year, it inspires awe and wonderment. In subsequent years, the wide-flaring flowers appear in countless array during a long bloomimg season from midsummer to frost. These exotic beauties, native to South America, can transform a terrace or patio into a tropical paradise. Angel Trumpets are large shrubs with lush foliage and masses of delightfully fragrant trumpets, 8 to 10" long (sometimes longer), suspended from the branches. A mature plant, blooming from midsummer until frost, may display as many as 80 to 100 blooms at one time! In the cool, moist air of evening, their fragrance is spellbinding. Place them where you get the benefit of their heady scent as well as their dramatic presence. Group several together on the patio or near the pool for a spectacular effect. Big and bold, Brugmansia will attain a height of 3-4' the first season and may reach 6-8' tall with a 6' spread in subsequent years. Grow these Angel Trumpets in large containers, preferably in full sun, and winter them indoors near a sunny window. In hardiness zone 10, you can plant Angel Trumpets directly in the garden, or in patio pots. Else- where you need to bring them indoors for the winter months. Size 3 1/2" pot.
