I am a city gardener. When we moved into our new house in an urban area, the back yard was full of trees and weeds and the front yard looked boring with a few hostas along the house. So, inspired by my childhood memories of my grandmother working in her vegetable garden, I decided to give our yard a new look. I started with two small flowerbeds, which shortly turned into four beds. Since then I’ve been adding new plants and moving old ones into new locations throughout the front and back yards. The best part is that there’s no more lawn to mow in the front of the house! My neighbors are joking that I am playing musical plants and that soon I’ll have to start turning their lawns into gardens. Gardening is my hobby and I feel most relaxed among my flowers.
