Because I live in Southern California and must be water-wise, I try to use as many native and drought tolerant plants and bulbs as I can. I try to incorporate a lot of different colors, as well as an eclectic collection of statues and whimsical garden ornaments. Because I have many unusual flowers--many ordered from catalogs such as yours--I get quite a few compliments from neighbors enjoying the garden as they pass the front yard.
