As a child I grew up in Colorado, where gardening was a real challenge. The dry climate made it real difficult to grow many flowers without constant watering every day.
When our family moved to Wisconsin, I discovered a whole new world. With a lot of humidity and rain, flowers and plants grew alot easier, but then again, so did the weeds! I discovered how much fun it was to try different varieties of plants and bulbs and always looked forward to what was new in the next year's catalogs.
Four years ago I moved to a different residence where hardly a flower had been planted. We live in a rural area on a country road in Wisconsin. We have a long steep bank along the road that I decided to turn into a very large flower bed. After clearing out stumps, shrubs, rocks, grass and weeds; we now have flowers from spring until fall.
In the spring of 2005, I got my first digital camera. I enjoy taking pictures of our flowers almost as much as growing them!
My mother and father-in-law, who live next door, enjoyed my flowers so much that now I'm taking over their bank with flowers, too!
