I live on an acre in rural Bristow, Iowa. I absolutely love to garden, and have so many things going that I barely have time to enjoy them! I have a large vegetable garden and love to go out and pick fresh food for supper, but my true love lies with my flower garden. My husband and I walk out and look every night to see if anything new has bloomed.

We put up a new house on our acreage two years ago, and they bulldozed and burnt the old house (it was in very bad condition). I thought to myself how much I wanted to have a big flower garden there, in place of the eyesore that was once our old house. I have been working on it ever since.

This is the second growing year for it, so many of the perennials I planted late in the season, I’m getting to see bloom this year! Every time I go to the nursery or local flower shops, I try to pick up something new. My favorite flowers are lilies and columbines as you can see in the pictures. It’s so nice to look out the window of the new house and see the beautiful flowers blooming!
