I like to create a display which will highlight every season. Living in Upstate New York can be challenging enough so selection is important. Your catalogs have also inspired me to broaden my scope and include some rare findings.
When I do a layout I always include rocks in my display for beds, borders and to highlight shrubs and trees. My collection includes, but is not limited by any means, tulips (spring), tree & bush peonies (late spring, early summer), and hardy hibiscus (late summer, fall).
My next feat will be to produce a peony paradise which will include herbaceous, intersectional and trees. So far it has proven rewarding and each year increases in size and beauty.
