Many gardeners shy away from Lilies in their landscapes. I simply can't imagine why! They are so beautiful and easy to grow. Perhaps those gardeners think that such a beautiful plant must be delicate and complicated.

Hello,
I love toad lilies and want to try to grow some in a container on my balcony in Florida. I face full West and the sun comes on the balcony about 4 pm, but not much of it. I'm on top floor and sun hits the balcony floor at four pm then gradually moves to inner part of balcony until sunset. It's hot but mostly shady all day.
Is it possible for me to grow these lilies in pots and if so will they bloom year around. I know nothing about growing them, so please help me with your advice. Perhaps it is not possible.
Thank you,
Theresa

It is near St. Petersbury and faces west on the Gulf of Mexico. There is salt air.
