Gardening is an activity for all the senses; sight, touch, sound, taste, and one of my favorites smell. Many modern garden plants have been hybridized to the point that they are very beautiful, but have little scent in their petals. This is such a shame because the fragrance of flowers, like Bearded Irises, can be intoxicating, invigorating, and bewitching.
