These days the use of cultivar names makes it easy to elaborate just what you think about another person. While most mothers would describe themselves as "frenzied" and would love the gift of a bright Gaillardia Commotion 'Frenzy,' this Mother's Day, send your favorite child-bearer a sweeter message with the new-American language of flowers:

• The primrose-yellow and apple-red petals of the Hybrid Lily 'Touch' will tell your mum just how much she's touched your life.
• She may be getting older every year, but remind her that she's still a 'Lovely Girl' with this freckled white Oriental Lily.
• Let her know how much you treasured her "pearls of wisdom" with the fragrant double Tuberose 'The Pearl'.
• You mother stuck with you through all the trials and tribulations of your adolescence... now that's love... Gladiolus 'That's Love'.
• On the other hand the Daylily 'You-Angel-You' sends the perfect message.
• If she likes musicals... and being a mother... there's a good chance she'll love the Hosta 'Mamma Mia'.
• And of course, the plant that needs no explanation: the Giant Dinner Plate Dahlia called 'Mom's Special'.
