Dear Gardeners:

Many gardeners shy away from Lilies in their landscapes. I simply can't imagine why! They are so beautiful and easy to grow. Perhaps those gardeners think that such a beautiful plant must be delicate and complicated. There are only a few simple tricks to ensuring success with these lovely plants:

• Give them plenty of sunshine all day long
• Their big flowers and tall stems need a lot of balanced fertilizer
• Good, deep drainage is essential
• Support for their tall stems will help them soar above the other garden plants

Rich colors and heavenly fragrance make our Lilies indispensible in every garden. It's hard to choose between the satiny Asiatic Lilies, velvety Oriental Lilies, dwarfs that don't need to be staked, double-flowered Lilies, Turk's Caps, Tangos, and even the Giant Hybrid Lilies. Their upright habit means that they don't take up much space in the garden. So, thinking logically, you can fit even more Lilies in the garden!
