Dear Gardeners:

By their very nature, Daylilies are flowers of daily hope and rejuvenation. Whatever troubles and tribulations life threw at you yesterday, let them wither and die away like the Daylily flower. Instead, focus on today's new and freshly opened flower. That's the beauty of the Daylily: it helps you appreciate the perfection of the day.

Considering Daylilies are so accommodating and easy to grow, it's hard to come up with a reason not to include them in your garden!

• Full or at least part sun exposure,
• A dose of balanced fertilizer in spring and fall,
• Decent drainage (although it is quite tolerant after it is established) and,
• Regular deadheading.
• These are the four basic steps to enjoying complete success with Daylilies in any garden coast to coast and north to south.
