Stately, grand, luxurious, and mysterious: Hostas are one of the most beautiful choices for any shady garden. As beautiful as these perennials are, it's hard to believe they are so hardy and easy to grow. Even novice gardeners can enjoy cultivating Hostas for their gorgeous foliage and fragrant flowers.

A Hosta's needs are simple and few:

• Ample moisture throughout the growing season
• Plenty of nitrogen fertilizer to feed those leaves in spring
• Protection from leaf munching pests like slugs
• And shade - the more variegated the leaf, the more shade it will need

If you're new to Hostas try one or two of our faithful favorites like 'Patriot or 'Bressingham Blue.' Experienced Hosta growers might consider some of our newer selections like golden variegated 'Mama Mia' and 'Earth Angel.' True enthusiasts are certain to be tempted by our specialty cultivars like the diminutive 'Blue Mouse Ears' or the dramatic 'White Feather,' whose foliage emerges ghostly pale before it turns green!
